1. Which hospital?
If your doctor referred you to a specific centre, that is settled. If the choice is yours, two things matter from Çorlu: whether the hospital is in the west or east of Istanbul, and how many times the patient will travel there.
2. Which side?
Western districts on the European side are close; the Asian side needs a Bosphorus crossing. Between two equivalent options, the nearer one protects both the patient and the budget.
3. What time?
Find out when the hospital expects you and work backwards. Early mornings suit pre-noon appointments but meet rush hour; midday is clearer; at night the road is empty but not every hospital admits.
4. Which vehicle?
A transfer ambulance for a stable stretcher patient; an equipped vehicle and crew if oxygen, monitoring or IV medication is involved. Ask the treating doctor what the patient will need on the way.
5. Who accompanies? 6. Documents? 7. Return?
One companion who knows the patient’s medication and history. One folder with referral, discharge summary, results, imaging and ID. And decide the return: same day (wait or come back), patient admitted and companion returns alone, or both stay. See Çorlu – Istanbul.
